What to know as a New Student

Tips for Success!

  • Arrive early! We lock the doors promptly to start class.
  • We are located across the street from Trader Joe's in the Safeway parking lot.
  • Bring your yoga mat, towel & water. (rentals are available)
  • Come to class on an empty stomach but stay hydrated before and after class.
  • Do not judge - yourself or others.
  • You can store your belongings in the cubbies. We lock the doors to ensure the safety of your items and our students.
  • "Unplug" - Silence your phone and dedicate this time for yourself. Our practice space is cellphone free.
  • Do your best, don't give up.
  • Breathe! You may find yourself dizzy at times. This is perfectly normal.
  • Cleanliness is a large part of yoga. Please practice this in your surroundings, your words, your thoughts. Return any used props and clean your mat after class.
  • Thank yourself for taking the time to get BALANCED!

Infrared heat warms the body from the inside out using light waves that gently penetrate the muscles and tissues. Unlike forced hot air, which heats the room and can feel heavy or overwhelming, infrared creates a steady, comfortable warmth that supports your practice rather than exhausting you.

This type of heat increases circulation, softens the muscles, and helps the body release tension more efficiently. Because it warms you at a deeper level, the body can move, stretch, and open with more ease and less strain.

Infrared heat is also known for supporting detoxification, improving recovery, boosting metabolic function, and promoting an overall sense of well-being. Students often describe the experience as therapeutic, calming, and energizing all at once.

In short: it’s heat that helps you, not heat that depletes you—making your practice both safer and more effective

The temperature of the room ranges from 105-110 degrees.

Non-heated classes are Yin and Kundalini.

Yes, you can sign up for classes through our website or the MINDBODY mobile app.

A yoga mat, a towel for your mat, a hand towel if desired water, and comfortable, breathable clothing. We also have mats and towels available to rent or buy.

No. All levels are welcome. Our teachers offer modifications so you can practice safely at your own pace.

Yes, we loooove beginner students. We encourage you to take breaks as needed, hydrate well, and listen to your body. The heat actually helps beginners move more comfortably.

Stay in the room, sit or lie down on your mat and BREATHE. Remember that simply staying in the room will provide your body massive benefits just from the heat alone. Please avoid going in and out of the hot room during practice.

Arrive well-hydrated, avoid heavy meals 1–2 hours beforehand, and come 10–15 minutes early to get settled as we do lock the doors at the start of each class for everyone’s safety and comfort.

Light, breathable, moisture-wicking clothing. Avoid heavy cotton, which holds sweat and becomes uncomfortable. Many people will wear pants/shorts and a t-shift, many women wear a sports bra as a top and lots of men practice without a shirt…lots of options.

Yes, when practiced mindfully. Our infrared heat is gentle, controlled, and designed to warm the body safely without overwhelming the room. We always encourage students to listen to their bodies queues and rest as needed.

3–4 times per week is ideal to build strength, flexibility, and consistency. Even once a week is beneficial. We encourage new students to take full advantage of their 2 week trial - you will feel results in a short time-period.

Yes, we have two restrooms for changing and one shower room. Please keep showers efficient after class.

Perfect — that’s why you practice. Flexibility improves over time, and the heat helps your muscles open safely.

Please cancel your enrollment any time you cannot attend a class you are signed up for…this allows the net person on the waitlist to be added to the class. We prefer not to charge late-cancellations fees so we need the help of our entire community to keep this benefit alive and honor your fellow students.
